PT PLN (Persero) inaugurated the first Hydrogen Refueling Station (HRS) or hydrogen vehicle filling station in Indonesia located in Senayan, Jakarta on Wednesday (21/2).
Hydrogen has great potential to store and transport energy in various sectors, including energy storage, transportation, industrial processes, and power generation. By integrating hydrogen as a low-carbon technology, Indonesia can significantly reduce emissions and accelerate the transition to clean energy to achieve global climate targets.
“Hydrogen plays a strategic role in the energy transition. Especially in the transportation sector, hydrogen-based vehicles have no emissions. Hydrogen development is proof of Indonesia's commitment to expanding access to accessible and clean technology,” said Jisman.
The Senayan HRS is equipped with hydrogen-based electric vehicle chargers, functioning similarly to public electric vehicle charging stations. Furthermore, a Hydrogen Center and Hydrogen Gallery Room have been established as training and educational centers for hydrogen-related activities in Indonesia.
