Interconnection
Be sure you are up to date with what is required before beginning a new contract. The process for interconnecting photovoltaic systems with the utility grid is determined by the New York State
In order to provide grid services, inverters need to have sources of power that they can control. This could be either generation, such as a solar panel that is currently producing electricity, or storage, like a battery system that can be used to provide power that was previously stored.
Reading your solar inverter display is essential for monitoring your solar system's performance. Key terms include: Stand By: Not enough DC voltage from the battery or PV source. Fault: An issue with the inverter that needs fixing to avoid energy outages. PV Grid On/In Use: Normal operation, sending energy genearation to the AC electricity grid.
Flash: This occurs when the inverter undergoes a firmware or software update. The update can be done locally via any communication channel or using a wireless communication module to update connected servers. PV Grid On/In Use: This indicates the normal operation of the solar inverter on the grid.
Navigate the Display: Use the 'Total' button located to the right of the display to scroll through different states and detailed reports. Continue clicking until a full report appears. View Detailed Information: Press the Enter key to view figures that describe the amount of electricity produced since the solar inverter was installed.
