As renewable energy continues to expand in Europe, energy storage must keep pace to ensure the grid remains flexible and stable. 'Embracing the benefits of Hybrid PV systems' – which includes solar hybrid projects with storage, wind, or both – estimates that hybrid projects have a 10% lower Levelised Cost of Electricity compared to standalone projects.
The Energy Storage Coalition's call aligns with previous European Parliament recommendations, which in 2020 called for a strategy on energy storage.
